NOTD Essie Bahama Mama

Recently I picked up Essie's Bahama Mama after hearing raves about it on YouTube. Essie's Bahama Mama is a beautiful berry plum color that is the embodies the essence of fall and winter. It is a darker and warmer color that goes well with lots of skin tones. The overall formulation is spectacular- it glides on smoothly and it is very opaque. Not to mention, it is really shiny even without a top coat. Bahama Mama has quickly become my favorite nail polish!

DIY Marble Nails!

Here's a fun and unique look for your nails! Marble nails come out differently every time and are very eye-catching. I have gotten lots of compliments on these nails!

You will need:

  • Assorted Nail Polishes of Different Colors
  • A Plastic Cup/Bowl (that you won't mind getting nail polish on) filled with water
  • Toothpick (Can substitute with bobby pin)
  • Tape
Steps:
  • Apply a base coat on your nails (this step can be optional, but it's recommended)
  • Paint a light colored nail polish on your nails (white, light pink, etc.)

  • Tape your fingers on the bottom and two sides. This will help prevent nail polish from getting all over your fingers.

  • Take one nail polish brush and put it over the water and let one drop fall into the bowl.

  • Once it hits the water it should 'burst' and expand in the water. If it falls to the bottom and gets stuck you should try again.

  • Repeat step four with different color(s) and drop the nail polish in the middle of the pool of polish. You can use as many colors as you like.

  • Alternate dropping the colors a few times.
  • Swirl the polish with the tooth pick in a fun design.
  • Dip your finger in polish in the water. Wait for about a minute.

  • *When taking out your finger make sure the excess nail polish does not stick on. Otherwise it will ruin the design! If it seems like it's going to then separate the excess with a toothpick.

  • Remove any excess nail polish from the bowl and any tape or nail polish on your finger.

You're done! I hope you've enjoyed this post! Tomorrow's Mother's Day. Tell her you appreciate her!!!

Essie Fiji and Marble Nails!

Hey everyone! I got Essie Fiji after I heard a lot of people recommending it. Essie Fiji is a gorgeous light milky pink-at least in the bottle. Unfortunately, the polish is just too streaky. I'm an amateur when it comes to applying nail polish so this was not for me. It would not come out evenly after I did a couple of coats. :( But, I did find a good use for it! I was trying out the water marble nail design and I used Essie Fiji and Sally Hansen Fuchsia Power in the design and it looked pretty good especially since it was my first time doing marble nails! Do you guys want a DIY post on marble nails?

Hunger Games Nail Polish

Picture from Seventeen Magazine
The Hunger Games is one of my favorite books and China Glaze is releasing a collection of nail polishes based on the book in March around the time the movie comes out! YAY!!! These are the colors! There are solid, shimmery, and glittery colors. I like Dress Me Up, Fast Track, Harvest Moon, Electrify, and Luxe and Lush.

Sally Hansen Fuchsia Power review and swatches

This is one coat of Sally Hansen in
Fuchsia Power.

This is one of my favorite nail polishes! It is a beautiful bright magenta pink. I feel that it's a great spring and summer color! It certainly is "powerful"! The color is very opaque so for me one coat is enough but you could always put a second coat just in case. It is very smooth and glossy so it's not necessary to put a topcoat. Overall I love it!!! You can buy this at a drugstore or any store like Walmart.

Would you wear this? Also, please vote on the poll to the right!
