Back to School Haul {Part 1}

This is a collective fashion haul for back to school. I will try to do some outfit posts with these clothes in the future. I went to American Eagle, Delia's and Bath & Body Works. The links are all included if you want to get them. :)
The first top I got is the AE Open Stitch Popover in pink. It is super super soft! The front is higher than the back. The material is much thinner than a sweater so I plan on just wearing it as a long sleeve as the weather turns cooler.

Here's an up close look at the material. What I like about it is that it has some subtle pops of hot pink in it which makes it more exciting and easy to pair a scarf with.
Now that brings up the next item I picked up which is a scarf! The AEO Floral Loop Scarf is labeled as coral but I would say it's more of a hot pink and coral blend in person. It has some cute flowers that match the base color of the popover. Very light and soft with frayed edges.
I got this tank to layer under the popover (it's kind of see through). The front is nothing special but the back is just covered in a beautiful lace pattern. Similar here.

The next top is a polka dotted Peter Pan collar top. It's made out of a chiffon like material. Two trends in one! Haha!
Under that top I would layer this tank
I also got a pair of dark wash jeggings. A bonus- it came in short! I hate having to roll up jeans because my legs are too short. A girl can never have too many jeans right? For some reason I don't like light rinse jeans so I always get dark ones. I didn't find any colored jeans that I liked. :(
These are very comfortable and flattering. American Eagle makes quality jeans.
I bought some American Eagle items from online because I had a special 15% off discount. I've really been into scarves recently. They can really spice up your outfit! I love this pattern and it has little tassels on the edges.
I needed a cute belt so I picked out this nice braided one.
I got the ribbon back t which is in a gorgeous pink. The back it so pretty!
The last top I got is my favorite one. The AE Pleated Floral Blouse is sooooooo beautiful especially in person. Unfortunately the red is sold only online. The blue is in stores though. Very flattering. The back is more sheer than the front so I plan on wearing a red tank under that I already have.
At Delia's I just picked up these rings. I like the vintage look that they have. I don't know why but they're unavailable online so I guess if you like them you'll have to search in store. They come as a 5 piece set.
At Bath and Body Works I picked up some hand sanitizer. They usually have a 5 for $5 sale going on. My favorite scent is the sweet cinnamon pumpkin. I just think of fall when I take a whiff of it. They're a perfect size to pop into a purse, pocket, or school bag!

That is the end of my haul! Sorry this post is so long. I hope you guys enjoyed it and I will have a school supplies haul coming soon!

Sunday Social

I stumbled across this link up and I thought I'd join in! What I like about this is the themed questions that go along with it rather than just blog hops.

1. What is the first website you log on to each day?
    Gmail
2. Give us some funny websites you visit that we need to know about
    iwastesomuchtime.com
3. Pinterest or Facebook? Why?
Pinterest because I get so many decor and DIY ideas from it.
4. Twitter or Instagram?
    Instagram! I love photography!
5. Favorite youtube video...post it!
These are my current top 3. I love Nigahiga and Jenna Marbles! Soooo funny!
Nice Guys-Nigahiga

Best Joke Ever-Nigahiga

How Girls Pack a Suitcase-JennaMarbles

     6. Biggest online pet peeve?
When people/haters (especially in YouTube comments) say really mean things about beauty gurus or others defending the guru. We all have different opinions- just respect that! Those gurus worked hard to make their videos. If you don't like the video you're watching then stop watching it and find something else. I think it's okay to be honest and make suggestions but in a nice way, no trash talking and insulting!

Review: Maybelline Volum' Express Mega Plush by Kayla

Hi guys! Kayla from All Things Beauty has a great review to share with you! Thank you for guest posting! Take it away...

Hey everyone!  Well as you can see, today I'm doing a review on the Maybelline Volum' Express Mega Plush mascara. A little disclaimer: I am not being paid to do this by any means, I just really like this product and thought it might be helpful to those who aren't sure whether they should buy it or not.

I think this is one of the best drugstore mascaras ever! I know Maybelline has always had good mascaras for a lot of people, then others don't really like them. I've kind of had mixed feelings about their mascaras in general. I always like to try their newest one, but the whole Falsies Collection didn't impress me at all. I thought they clumped really bad which made me want to pick at it all day, and it flaked throughout the day which does NOT look good. I was kind of excited to try this product out for some reason though. So I went down to walmart and picked it up, pretty recently after it came out.

I never used to curl my lashes before I put on mascara but I think it makes a huge difference with this mascara so I highly recommend it! This mascara is definitely my favorite so far. It adds so much volume to your lashes and it adds a lot of length as well! It lasts all day without having to reapply (even the non-waterproof which is what I have). It doesn't flake at all and feels very smooth on your lashes. It can give your eyes a dramatic look, if that's what you want then apply up to 3 coats. 1 coat gives a nice amount of length and volume and looks pretty and natural. 2 coats is what I usually wear and I think it's perfect! Doesn't make your eyes look too dramatic but gives them a perfect amount of length and volume.

When I first opened up the mascara to try it out, I was a little worried that it would clump because it just looked like that kind of brush but it has a such a smooth application and it's very flexible. It works to cover all of your lashes, even the littlest ones in the outer corner. I really can't say a bad thing about this mascara I love it! Would so recommend this product for anyone wanting to try out a new mascara, or just starting out with makeup, this is a great product!

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this post and it was helpful to you! Have a great day! :)

DIY Wall Decor

Hi guys! I have a simple DIY that is quick, cute, and good for the environment. All the supplies needed are everyday household items. Everyone uses toilet paper but what about the tube? I mean think about it. Every time you throw one away it's just wasted and it kills trees every time a new toilet paper roll is made! I actually stumbled upon some pictures of toilet paper tube art on pinterest when I was looking for some easy DIY wall decor like the one below. So I thought why not make some flowers?

Picture from pinterest

The only supplies you need are a toilet tube, scissors, tape and some ribbon (optional).

Cut the tube into 6 thin strips like this. Each tube makes about three 6-petal flowers.

Bend the strips into petal shape. (Left- round and unbent; Right- bent into flower petal).

Arrange the petals next to each other and tape them together one at a time. Tape them towards the middle of the flower. Repeat for all 6 (You can do a 5 petal flower too.)

And you're done! You can tape some ribbon around the center of the flower to add a pop of color. I don't actually display my flowers like this. I just put this up for the purpose of taking pictures. I was planning on arranging the flowers on the wall like the pinterest picture (without any hooks or string) but if you want to know how to do this display I just took some paper clips and twisted them to make double-sided hooks and I strung them on another color ribbon.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post! Have a great day!

Lucky Contributor

Hey everyone! I am a Lucky Contributor!!!!!!!

What does that mean? Well, Lucky Magazine started a program called Lucky Community that lets bloggers like us to post stuff from our blogs that involve fashion, beauty, etc. Isn't that exciting? All you have to do is make an account and submit posts to Lucky for them to review and they might publish your posts! They have a voting system when your post is published which is basically "liking" someone's post. I'd appreciate if you'd vote for my post (click on the blue number with an arrow next to it). Click here to view my post! Thanks!

Vera Bradley Laptop Portfolio Review

Hey guys! I can't believe it's already August! This is when school slowly creeps into my mind- summer is almost gone! But what I love about August is back to school shopping. (A great excuse for getting new clothes and other things. :) August is mix of excitement and dread for me. Anyway, a couple of weeks ago I had a coupon for 30% one item at Vera Bradley so I had to take the opportunity to buy a new laptop case for school! I got the laptop portfolio in paisely meets plaid. To read the full review click on this link: http://clochedeletoile.blogspot.com/2012/08/guest-post-vera-bradley-laptop.html
