OOTD: Coralista

Here is an outfit of the day! I am loving all the warm weather recently! I paired a bright coral top with white shorts both from American Eagle Outfitters. The shirt is soooo soft and the shorts are so versatile! The tank is from Abercrombie.

The sandals are from JCPenney. I think they are the a.n.a. brand.

I've been trying to do some outfits of the days since I've seen so many other bloggers doing this. I hope you guys like this post! I will try to incorporate some more jewelry and accessories in future OOTD posts.

Summer 2012 Fashion Trends!

Brights, whites and patterns galore! These are some the Summer 2012 Fashion Trends.

Colored Shorts/Neon/Bright colors- This year so far, bright colors have been really popular! Neon is totally in!

White- It's a great color to stay cool in the hot sun in and super popular this season. A win-win! I've seen a lot of white lace shorts too.

Maxi Dresses- They are usually worn in the summer and are very comfortable. They look great on tall people (unlike me since I'm pretty short). But I've seen a lot of pretty maxi dresses.

Tribal Prints- There's a lot of tribal print shirts, dresses, swim suits, and rompers in stores.

Strapless- From dresses to tops, strapless seems to be dominating over one shoulder and spaghetti straps.

My favorite trend has to be the bright colors and white shorts. What is your favorite summer trend?

Obsession: Rose Gold

My recent obsession has been rose gold! Rose gold is a pinkish toned gold which looks amazing! It's not an overpowering pink so it looks sophisticated. Rose gold is usually used in jewelry and watches as you will see in the pictures below. I think it's a nice change from the usual gold. This color is definitely nice for spring!

I think I found my dream watch. Check out this Michael KorsGlitz Watch:
This picture was from chicshopperchick.com
What do you guys think of rose gold? What are your current obsessions?

This or That Tag!

I found this tag at MissJammyxo's blog and it seemed really fun! I love reading and doing tags. It's a great way to get to know more about the blogger.

MAKEUP
  • Blush or bronzer? Blush.
  • Lip gloss or lipstick? I actually like lip gloss. It's a simple way to make you look complete.
  • Eye liner or mascara? Mascara.
  • Foundation or concealer? Concealer.
  • Neutral or colour eye shadow? I like neutral colors. I prefer more natural makeup.
  • Pressed or loose? Pressed is easier to manage and what's the point of loose?
  • Brushes or sponges? Brushes. I think sponges are not as hygienic

NAILS

  • OPI or China Glaze? I'm an amateur to nail polishes so I haven't tried OPI or China Glaze. If I were to try one I would try OPI.
  • Long or short? Short is more practical. If I have long nails they feel as if they're going to break.
  • Acrylic or natural? Natural. I play the piano and there is no way I'd wear fake nails!
  • Brights or darks? I like brights!
  • Flower or no flower? I'm trying out some flower designs to see how they turn out. I really like marble nails!

BODY

  • Perfume or body splash? I prefer perfume but there's some really nice smelling body splashes
  • Lotion or body butter? Lotion.
  • Body wash or soap? Soap.
  • Lush or other bath company? Bath and Body Works, Lush is 2nd for now.

FASHION
  • Jeans or sweat pants? Jeans!
  • Long sleeve or short? Short.
  • Dresses or skirts? I love dresses!
  • Stripes or plaid? I like stripes and plaid depending on the season. I think plaid is more of a fall and winter style.
  • Flip flops or sandals? Sandals.
  • Scarves or hats? I don't really wear either.
  • Studs or dangly earrings? Dangly! They look so much prettier!
  • Necklaces or bracelets? I'm more of a necklace girl. I don't really wear anything on my arms.
  • Heels or flats? Flats.
  • Cowboy boots or riding boots? Riding boots.
  • Jacket or hoodie? Hoodies are more comfy and casual.
  • Forever 21 or Charlotte Russe? Forever 21
  • Abercombie or Hollister? This has to be a trick question, I mean they have almost the same clothes. I like both!
  • Saks 5th or Nordstrom? Nordstrom.

HAIR

  • Curly or straight? My hair is naturally straight. I like to curl it once in awhile.
  • Bun or ponytail? Ponytail is just easier.
  • Bobby pins or butterfly clips? Bobby pins.
  • Hair spray or gel? Spray.
  • Long or short? I have medium length hair. I'm getting a haircut soon though.
  • Light or dark? Dark, very very dark.
  • Side sweep bangs or full bangs? Side. Full bangs are too difficult to take care of-always have to trim them.
  • Up or down? Usually down.

I tag you!

What's On My Bookshelf: Divergent

I am going to start a new series of posts called "What's On My Bookshelf" to talk about some good books that I'm currently reading or recommend!

This first book I'll be talking about is Divergent by Veronica Roth. Here is a summary of the book from the book cover:

In Beatrice Prior's dystopian Chicago world, society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue—Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives. For Beatrice, the decision is between staying with her family and being who she really is—she can't have both. So she makes a choice that surprises everyone, including herself.
During the highly competitive initiation that follows, Beatrice renames herself Tris and struggles alongside her fellow initiates to live out the choice they have made. Together they must undergo extreme physical tests of endurance and intense psychological simulations, some with devastating consequences. As initiation transforms them all, Tris must determine who her friends really are—and where, exactly, a romance with a sometimes fascinating, sometimes exasperating boy fits into the life she's chosen. But Tris also has a secret, one she's kept hidden from everyone because she's been warned it can mean death. And as she discovers unrest and growing conflict that threaten to unravel her seemingly perfect society, she also learns that her secret might help her save those she loves . . . or it might destroy her.
It's 487 pages but the font is pretty large and it's pretty spaced out so it's more like 300+ pages. Divergent is the first book of the Divergent trilogy. Divergent is a more intense and dark variation of a dystopian novel. Other books like Matched by Ally Condie and Delirium by Lauren Oliver focus more on romance while Diverent has more action to it. So if you're looking for action, this is a good book for you! It does have some romance though. I think because it's focused more on action and a suspenseful plot that it lacks in descriptive quality. It just doesn't have as much imagery or details but it's a good story nonetheless. I really do recommend this book to you guys and I hope you find this book interesting!

If you've read this book, what do you think of it? Are there any books that you recommend me read?

Lush Buttercup

This is actually my first Lush product that I have used and I love it so far! Lush Buttercup is gift set that comes with a sample size of the Honey I Washed the Kids Soap and a full size Butterball Bath Bomb. I won this gift set from MakeupThatSmiles in her 1000 subscribers on YouTube giveaway. Thank you so much Katy!!!! Go check out her channel! She also has a blog. Click here to check it out.

This is what the outside packaging looks like. It is so adorable! It's very petite and sweet!

I was so excited to finally be able to open the box! So what are the products included in this gift set?
Honey I Washed the Kids Soap: one of our best-selling soaps because it’s simply irresistible. People who fully intended to walk past a LUSH shop find themselves unable to resist its sweet caramel fragrance. You’ll inhale, drool, pick up a big chunk and immediately want to wash yourself all over with it. It’s so gentle, buttery and scrumptious you’ll have a hard time keeping it to yourself. The honey water and aloe are so softening and moisturizing, you can use our toffee-scented sensation on the whole family.
It smells very sweet and lathers pretty well. I love the scent! The soap gives you a very squeaky clean feeling so I do recommend using a lotion afterwards if you want to have a very moisturized feel. Unfortunately it did not last that long...:( It came as a small hexagonal piece. But I plan on getting more someday!

Butterball Bath Bomb: Our vanilla-scented Bath Bomb is anything but boring when you lay back into a cozy white blanket of creamy buttery froth. This little fizzer is the ultimate in comfort with chunks of creamy cocoa butter; it’s fantastic for rehydrating dry skin. Baths can dry your skin if they’re too hot, so if you’re in need of a long, lingering bath pop one of these gorgeous beauties into the tub for a vanilla custard soak to lull you into a deep relaxed state – and leave with sweeter, softer skin.
I have not tried this yet. I am saving it for special day! :D
What Lush products do you recommend?

DIY Marble Nails!

Here's a fun and unique look for your nails! Marble nails come out differently every time and are very eye-catching. I have gotten lots of compliments on these nails!

You will need:

  • Assorted Nail Polishes of Different Colors
  • A Plastic Cup/Bowl (that you won't mind getting nail polish on) filled with water
  • Toothpick (Can substitute with bobby pin)
  • Tape
Steps:
  • Apply a base coat on your nails (this step can be optional, but it's recommended)
  • Paint a light colored nail polish on your nails (white, light pink, etc.)

  • Tape your fingers on the bottom and two sides. This will help prevent nail polish from getting all over your fingers.

  • Take one nail polish brush and put it over the water and let one drop fall into the bowl.

  • Once it hits the water it should 'burst' and expand in the water. If it falls to the bottom and gets stuck you should try again.

  • Repeat step four with different color(s) and drop the nail polish in the middle of the pool of polish. You can use as many colors as you like.

  • Alternate dropping the colors a few times.
  • Swirl the polish with the tooth pick in a fun design.
  • Dip your finger in polish in the water. Wait for about a minute.

  • *When taking out your finger make sure the excess nail polish does not stick on. Otherwise it will ruin the design! If it seems like it's going to then separate the excess with a toothpick.

  • Remove any excess nail polish from the bowl and any tape or nail polish on your finger.

You're done! I hope you've enjoyed this post! Tomorrow's Mother's Day. Tell her you appreciate her!!!
